Meet Thyra Moore, a memorable abstract artist known for her resilience-inspired creations. Thyra’s distinctive style emerged from a serendipitous interaction with a rescue dog, Xena, whose destructive antics sparked a transformation in Thyra’s approach to art.

Armed with a BFA from the esteemed Tyler School of Art, Thyra transitioned from a successful advertising career to the liberating world of abstract art. Originally entranced by gouache (opaque watercolor), she eventually found her creative freedom in the versatility of acrylics. This spontaneous medium allowed Thyra to infuse each piece with dimension, texture, and color — reflecting life's ongoing shift from adversity to optimism. Her work, celebrated in private collections and juried shows, has received prestigious accolades, such as Best in Show at the District Arts gallery and First Place in the 37th Annual Faber Birren National Color Award Show.
